How to request a new time
The meeting’s on, the time isn’t. From your invite you can propose a new time, or take yourself off the meeting entirely. For your guests, no login needed.
Request a different time
Section titled “Request a different time”- Open your invite’s link. On the meeting page, find Need a different time? and click Request a different time.
- Pick a New date and New start time, add a reason if you like, and send.
- That’s it. The page confirms We sent your request, and here’s the important part: your meeting stays on your calendar at its current time until the organizing team confirms the change. They’ll approve the new time or come back with another suggestion. The meeting keeps its original length either way.
Remove yourself from the meeting
Section titled “Remove yourself from the meeting”Declining keeps you on the guest list; removing yourself takes you off it for good.
- On the same page, find Can’t make it after all? and click Remove me from this meeting.
- Add a reason if you want the organizer to know why, then confirm with Remove me (or back out with Keep my spot).
- You’re off the meeting and the organizer is notified. The meeting itself may still happen for the other attendees, and removal is final for you.
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”Only one reschedule request is open per meeting at a time. Send another and it replaces your first, so the organizer only ever sees your latest proposal.
